Pluto and Butch having a macho contest over Dinah, well this
was pleasant.
Okay to be fair is wasn’t much a of contest considering Butch
beat the living tar out of Pluto when Dinah wasn’t around and then tried to act
all innocent, but that doesn’t mean I’m finding a lot to like here. The love triangle cliché annoys me in every
form of media and it’s made no better here as there is nothing new being
brought to the table. We have the big
brute in Butch and the goofy underdog in Pluto, Butch reveals his true colours,
and Pluto wins the day and the girl woohoo.
Not helping matters is that there is wonky perspective going on with the
yard background that’s distracting.
So for me this was a completely forgettable short. The story is cliché and boring there’s
nothing grand with the animation, and the background is taking away from the
boring story further by the awkward angle used.
