Let's Review a Movie: Never Forget (1991)

On the day we promise to remember those who died for our freedom, and those who are still fighting out there all over the world, I’m looking at a made for TV movie that has quite the appropriate title.

Let's Review a Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007)

Well Dead Man’s Chest wasn’t an improved sequel, but I’ll argue that this one was, to Dead Man’s Chest anyway. In fact with the fourth movie on the way, and depending on how long this franchise goes on it may start a reverse Star Trek trend, where the odd numbers are great and the even numbers suck.

Let's Review a Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006)

Well The Curse of the Black Pearl was a run away success and thus the Disney studio sees nothing but dollars signs and the ability to build a brand. The command comes down: make more movies! Well there have certainly been worse sequels put out than this.

Let's Review a Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

Well this film is certainly an interesting one for me. This really was a movie I thought was doomed right out of the gate. A feature film based off a theme park ride, an awesome theme park ride; my personal favourite in fact, but a theme park ride? They are totally scraping the bottom of the creativity barrel. I went to see this thing fully prepared to laugh at every horrible moment I was sure was going to fill the silver screen; and to my immense surprise what I got instead was a movie that kicks the undead’s butt.

A Tribute to Ward Kimball

"We thought we were always going to be 21 years old. We thought we would always be putting goldfish in the bottled drinking water, balancing cups of water on the light fixtures, changing the labels on cans of sauerkraut juice. We were 21 years old, Walt was 30, leading the pack. Working there was more fun than any job I could ever imagine."

Let's Review a Movie: Sleeping Beauty (1959)

Released in 1959 this was the film the Disney studio hoped would be another runaway blockbuster for them. Instead, while it was successful, the costs of making it were so high that the animation process would have to be totally revamped for the next feature.

Let’s Review a Movie: The Princess and the Frog (2009)

It’s February, the month of love, lust, and romance which means reviewing romance films. This time I’m looking at the company famous for its romantic couples and some cartoons about a mouse. (Poor Oswald doesn’t get any recognition.)
