My last feature film at the Giraf festival was this
documentary directed by Kevin Schreck on Richard Williams’ would be masterpiece
The Thief and the Cobbler.

Independence Spotlight: The Congress (2013)
Continuing my time at the Giraf festival I went to see the
latest film by director Ari Folman. It’s
beautiful, thought provoking, and the first in the category I’ve lovingly
decided to call “what on Earth did I just watch?”

Let’s Review a TV Series: Mummies Alive
Well last year around this time I looked at the first season
of the Legend of Korra. While the second season of that show certainly
has lots to be discussed it’s still airing and will have to wait. So instead I’m jumping in the way back
machine and going all the way back to 1997 to talk about the one and only
season of Mummies Alive. And hey mummies are a scary monster staple
and totally appropriate for Halloween.

Short Subject: The Skeleton Dance (1929)
Welcome to a new idea for the blog where I’m taking a look
at short films all on their own. Today
I’m looking at a short that is totally appropriate for this spooky season.

Let’s Review a Movie: All About Eve (1950)
So today I’m looking at the winner of the 1950 Oscar for
best picture and the movie that is tied with Titanic for the most Oscar nominations in history.

Let’s Review a Movie: Cinderella III: A Twist in Time (2007)
Okay so if Cinderella
II expanded a story that didn’t really need to be developed further. Then the best follow up to that film is to erase
all of it along with the original film completely!

Let’s Review a Movie: Cinderella II: Dreams Come True (2002)
So fifty years after the release of the classic film that
still has high marketability even today some high executive at Disney decided
that it needed a direct to DVD sequel that would help define the early 2000s as
a Dork Age for the company. So for this
Disney fan that rather liked the original Cinderella
both for its look and story my response to this thing is a resounding…meh.

Let’s Review a Movie: The Lion King 1 ½ (2004)
You know the title card for this film where the background
cracks apart just really sums up this film in a nutshell. This thing is wrecked on arrival.
